Sammy Gyamfi speaks ahead of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia's speech at TESCON
- Sammy Gyamfi reveals his party- NDC will abolish the recently introduced E-levy on all electronic transactions.
In a short interview on Joy TV, Sammy Gyamfi revealed the stance of his political party- the National Democratic Congress, and the unpopular e-levy which has received a lot of public outcries on the road to its passing as a bill and eventual signing into law by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Quoting Sammy Gyamfi verbatim in this interview, he said
“The General Secretary of the party has said so. He is my boss. He is the Chief Executive Officer of the party. And I believe that he has the blessing of the leadership of the party, and that's a party position, that we don't subscribe to the E-levy, and we won't continue to take E-levy from Ghanaians should power change hands.”This revelation from the NDC's communications director comes ahead of a much-awaited awaited speech by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who some time ago revealed his opposition to taxation on mobile money transactions during a short interview on Peace FM.
