The Black Stars of Ghana are going to Qatar for the FIFA World Cup Competition in December of this year but Jordan Ayew's name will not be allowed to rest.
It was all to play for in the encounter between the Blackstar of Ghana and the Super Eagles of Nigeria with fans coming on the pitch after the Blackstars won the match against their arch-football rivals on the continent.Ghana has qualified but what happened on the field of play hasn't stopped. Jordan Ayew having created a foul instead of running with the ball caused Ghana to get an advantage over the Super Eagles of Nigeria. This eventually ended in a goal that made Thomas Partey score.
Award-winning journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has shared his support for Jordan Ayew for his stellar performance but he has been reminded by one fan that Jordan Ayew could have done better.
Manasseh Azure Awuni's message,
"Jordan Ayew won a free-kick. Redeemer Buatsi was livid. He thought Jordan could have run with the ball instead of allowing himself to be fouled.
Frederick Quayson thought otherwise. He said such set pieces were necessary if we could score a goal.
The initial strike from that foul resulted in a throw or a corner, which Jordan Ayew brilliantly passed before someone else assisted Thomas Partey to score the only goal that booked Ghana a place in Qatar 2022.
The argument was still raging at the MFWA office when jubilation exploded.
It resolved the argument.
Football is teamwork. And I don't think any player intentionally wants to have a bad day."
